As far as my picking ability is concerned?

  • Arndt vs Jansen [6]: This was a close match and it went into overtime with Arndt victorious as predicted. +1
  • Lawrence vs Dubois [7]: Dubois himself makes an appearance and proves that in the Metro?League?anyone can beat anyone. -1
  • Wangensteen vs Kruse [5]: Kruse didn’t let the upset pick discourage them at all and walked away with another win. -1
  • Stanek vs Erickson [2]: Erickson doesn’t?disappoint and takes the upset victory. +1
  • Lichty vs Dveris [1]: This was even closer than I had called and was another sheet that went 9 ends. Marshall might need to check his broom for hairline fractures after last nights match. +1
  • Beranek vs Anderson [4]: My coin flip call of the week was wrong. Anderson had the lead for a while but Beranek proved too much for them. -1
  • Sonnabend vs Lockwood [3]: I didn’t make a call and this match but I did say it would be interesting and it was! With Sonnabend falling to an early 5 point deficit and the game coming down to the last rocks of the 8th and Sonnabend winning 9-8. —
  • McGovern vs Rohde [8]: I told McGovern to “prove me wrong” and they did. It took them 9 ends, but they did it. -1

That lands me at 3-4-1 on my calls for the week. A week that had upsets, 3 sheets going extra ends and lots of lead changes. Congrats to all rinks on some hard?fought battles.

2nd half starts next week.

See you on the ice!

Comments

  1. Any video this week of me leaving my draw 6 feet short of the house with our team’s final rock in the 9th end?

  2. Sorry Doug, I figured we’d let that shot live on in your head only. Besides… it wasn’t your fault you rock didn’t make it into the house, your sweepers are at fault 🙂
