  • Lichty – Stanek:  Lichty is reeling from a rocky season, and Stanek will try to take advantage of that this week.  The arena will echo with the sounds of “line is good…only weight” as Lichty goes for redemption.
  • Boomer – Dubois:  Both of these rinks share a similar story this season with wins peppered across the league, but both struggle with flow.  Boomer will channel the essence of Jay-Z and flow their way to three straight.
  • Lawrence – Erickson:  Lawrence, still in mourning from last week’s implosion, will don black in an attempt to take out their frustrations on Erickson.  If they can channel their aggression they can defeat Erickson, but not without a few tense moments.
  • Wangensteen – Dveris:  This will be a great match up.  Currently, Dveris is on the rise and Wangensteen is slowly sinking, but by the numbers they are neck and neck.  I’m calling the psychic hotline for this one ….. she says that “win and the winner both begin with a ‘W'”, Wangensteen it is.
  • Anderson – Jansen:  Sure I could talk about their records, facial hair, and good posture, but I’m going with Anderson based solely on his ability to organize a chili cook off.  If you didn’t see it above, please take a moment to look at it and participate.
  • McLellan – Lockwood:  No longer the winless.  No longer the team with one win, McLellan now owns two Ws for the season.  Will it be enough to overcome Lockwood?  No, but the Lockwood rink are such great guys, that you don’t feel so bad when you lose to them.
  • Beranek – McGovern:  President Obama called this week and asked me to pick McGovern for the win and since he helped me get out of a traffic ticket last month I figured that I owed him one.  So as much as I’d like to see Beranek win, it is their patriotic duty to let McGovern take it.
  • Sonnabend – Rohde:  Will Sonnabend come off the bye week strong like Dolf Lundgren or busted like Brigitte Nielsen?  A lot of folks would like to see them down in the muck with the rest of us and Rohde could be the rink to pull it off.  But a record is a record, and I’m calling Sonnabend to pull a Lundgren and maintain their position.

See you on the ice.
